Train For More Than The Certificate

Idaho's Enhanced Concealed Carry training combines legal education, safe firearm handling, self-defense principles and live-fire training.

This class brings those pieces together in a practical, in-person format designed to help you better understand the responsibility that comes with carrying a firearm.

The shooting portion is completed first, followed by legal instruction in the classroom from local Idaho attorneys or law-enforcement professionals.

Rights & Responsibilities

Understand important legal considerations, rights and responsibilities associated with concealed carry and use of force.

Mindset & Judgment

Learn about awareness, decision-making, escalation, de-escalation and the responsibilities that come with carrying.

  • IFC Member: $70
  • Non-Member: $145
  • Equipment Maintenance Fee: $10 cash
  • Range Fee: $10 cash
  • Optional Oregon Certificate: $20 cash

Required on-site cash fees: $20. If you also want the optional Oregon certificate, bring $40 total cash. Exact change is recommended.

Oregon Certificate Option

An Oregon handgun-training certificate is available at the end of class for an additional $20 cash. The Oregon CHL application itself is separate and subject to the applicable Oregon sheriff's requirements.

How long is the Idaho Enhanced CCW class?
The class is approximately 8 hours. The typical schedule is 9:00 AM–6:00 PM with arrival around 8:45 AM. Always follow the date-specific instructions in your booking confirmation.
Can I attend the class if I am 17?
Idaho Firearms Classes lists the course itself as open to students age 17+. Course attendance and legal eligibility to receive an Idaho Enhanced Concealed Weapons License are separate, so verify current licensing eligibility before applying.
How much does the class cost?
The class price is $70 for IFC members and $145 for non-members. There is also a $10 IFC equipment maintenance fee and $10 range fee paid in cash. An optional Oregon certificate is available for an additional $20 cash.
What do I need to bring?
Bring your handgun, 100 rounds of factory-loaded ammunition, eye protection, ear protection, lunch, water and exact cash for applicable on-site fees. No revolvers or steel-core ammunition are listed for this class. Rental firearms should be reserved in advance.

Does taking the class guarantee I receive an Enhanced CWL?
No. Successful completion provides course documentation for the licensing process, but the applicable sheriff's office determines whether an applicant meets current legal requirements and whether a license is issued.
What is the refund and rescheduling policy?
Class fees are non-refundable. One reschedule is allowed at no charge when at least 72 hours' notice is provided. With less than 72 hours' notice, a $50 rescheduling fee per person applies. No-shows are not rescheduled. If Idaho Firearms Classes cancels a class, students are moved to another available class.
